Warby Garden is a richly layered exploration of the lush, thriving world found in a garden of Warburton in the Yarra Ranges of Victoria (Australia). Painted with both acrylics and oils, the work invites the viewer into a dense tapestry of ferns, moss, rhododendrons, and flowering understory plants. Each layer was built up slowly, allowing the forms to emerge organically. The result is an immersive, almost dreamlike space, where details reveal themselves gradually and reward close, lingering looking.

The composition celebrates the entangled beauty of a temperate garden in full vitality – where moisture, shadow, and light create a living mosaic of textures. The use of both fast-drying acrylics and slow, luminous oils allowed for intricate detailing alongside soft glazes and atmospheric depth. This duality of media mirrors the balance in the garden itself: chaos and order, wildness and intention. Warby Garden is not just a depiction of place, but a meditation on growth, time, and the quiet energy of nature's intricacies.
