River Rock

This diptych explores the patterns and textures found in river stones. I used marbling techniques to create concentric rings that echo the natural markings in rocks—formed by water, time, and pressure. Other areas were built up with layered watercolour and patterned brushwork to suggest mineral variation and subtle shifts in surface.

The work is less about any single stone and more about the quiet complexity found in a riverbed—where everything is shaped by flow and change.
